Yin-Ling Liu

Clarinetist Yin-Ling Liu has a Master of Music degree in Clarinet Performance under Prof. Jonathan Gunn in the Butler School of Music at The University of Texas at Austin.

She was born in Taiwan in 1995, and she completed her Bachelor of Music degree at Soochow University in Taiwan, under Prof. Pei-Yun Lin. In high school, Yin-Ling was the winner of the Concerto Competition, and she performed C. M. Von Weber’s Concertino Op. 26 as a soloist with the New Taipei Municipal Hsin Tien Senior High School Orchestra.

Yin-Ling has participated in numerous music festivals including The Henri Selmer Paris International Summer Academy, Lift Clarinet Academy, International Clarinet Association ClarinetFest in United States, and The 5th, 6th International Clarinet Festival, Taipei Symphony Orchestra Music Camp in Taiwan.

Yin-Ling also has been actively participating in master classes which held by Alexandre Chabod, Andrew Simon, Ayako Oshima, Chad Burrow, Jana Starling, Kimberly Cole Luevano, Michael Norsworthy, Michel Arrignon, Nathan Williams, Nicolas Baldeyrou, Romain Guyot, Wesley Ferreira, Wonkak Kim. 

She was highly awarded in many national and  international competitions. She be selected in 2020 Round Top Music Festival, and she be advanced to semi-final round in the Young Texas Artists Music Competition in 2019. In 2017, Yin-Ling won the 3rd prize in the 2017 Young Artist Competition in Florida held by the International Clarinet Association, and she got the 4th prize in National Student Competition of Music in Taiwan. In  addition, she won the 2nd prize in Taipei City Student Competition of Music.

For the clarinet set-up, Yin-Ling is playing Buffet Crampon Clarinet, Vandoren B40 Lyre Mouthpiece, and Wood Stone KODAMA II Ligature.
